Private Three Valleys of the High Atlas Day Trip from Marrakech

Full day, driver-guide, at your pace

Three valleys, one day, your pace

An hour from the red city, the High Atlas shifts into another world: the cool waterfalls of the Ourika, the high plateau of Oukaimeden above 2,600 m, and the Asni valley opening onto the gateways to Toubkal. On a single private day from Marrakech, Atlas Driver links all three — no fixed group, no coach timetable, at a fixed price quoted before you book. You leave from your riad or hotel, stop wherever the light deserves it, and return in the evening with a real mountain day behind you.

Three valleys in one day: Ourika, Oukaimeden, Asni

Why private rather than a shared coach

The High Atlas doesn't reward being rushed. On a shared minibus you're tied to other people's schedule, forced shop stops and a vague "drop-off at the village." Private, the vehicle is yours: you leave before the crowds, stop at the right waterfall, stretch one valley and trim another to suit the weather and your mood. A calmer, more beautiful day — and no price lottery on arrival.

The Ourika Valley and the Setti Fatma waterfalls

First valley of the day, the Ourika is the greenest and liveliest. The road follows the river, threading through Berber villages and terraced fields up to Setti Fatma, the start of the waterfall trail. An optional walk — short or more demanding depending on your fitness — leads to the first falls, framed by rock and cold mountain water. It's the most animated stop of the day, perfect for a mint-tea pause on a riverside terrace.

Oukaimeden, the balcony of the High Atlas

As you climb again the landscape opens and bares itself: this is Oukaimeden, above 2,600 metres, North Africa's highest ski area. In winter its slopes turn white; in spring and summer it becomes a panoramic balcony over the High Atlas peaks, dotted with prehistoric rock carvings and high-pasture shepherds. The air changes, the light changes — for lovers of wide-open spaces, it's often the highlight of the day.

The Asni Valley and the gateways to Toubkal

Further west, the Asni valley opens the way toward Imlil and Toubkal, the roof of North Africa. Orchards, a Berber market, mud-brick villages clinging to the slopes: the mood here is more rural, more mineral. This is where the mountains stand highest and wildest — without any need for crampons, as it all unfolds from the road and its viewpoints.

When to go? Snow in winter, green in spring

Oukaimeden is usually covered in snow from December to March: dramatic winter scenery and white summits. In spring, the Ourika and Asni turn green and the waterfalls run full. Summer offers cool mountain air when Marrakech heats up, with clear peaks. Every season has its day: tell us when you're coming and we'll set the itinerary accordingly.

FAQ — Three Valleys of the High Atlas

Can you really see all three valleys in one day?

Is there snow at Oukaimeden?
Usually from December to March: Oukaimeden is North Africa's highest ski area. In spring and summer you'll find green landscapes and clear summits instead.
What level of walking is required?
None is mandatory: everything is done by vehicle with scenic stops. Walks are optional, like the one to the Setti Fatma waterfalls, and adapt to your fitness.
Is the excursion suitable for families and older travellers?
Yes, it's fully private: a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, a dedicated multilingual driver, a flexible pace and stops on request. No group constraints.
How much does it cost and how do I book?
The price is fixed and quoted before any booking — no surprises, no last-minute extras. Request your quote online or on WhatsApp: we confirm the price, the vehicle and the details, with a secure Stripe deposit.
